Up to 30 dead at two New Zealand mosques
Up to 30 dead at two New Zealand mosques after a Trump-supporting white supremacist, 28, opens fire and livestreams the slaughter as car bombs are found and a woman and three men are arrested

A gunman, believed to be a 28-year-old Australian, has shot dead several people at a mass shooting inside Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch. The man, who identified himself as Brenton Tarrant' from Australia on Twitter (left), livestreamed the massacre (centre) and released a 37-page manifesto declaring his intentions. Witnesses reported they heard 50 shots from his semi-automatic shotgun (pictures from the scene top right and bottom right). People were also shot at the nearby Linwood Masjid mosque. There are also reports of another shooting outside Christchurch Hospital and that a bomb was found in a car two miles from Al Noor Mosque. Up to 27 people are believed to be dead and 50 injured. Police said a suspect is in custody but it is unclear if it is the gunman. Police have urged people near the area to stay indoors as the city is placed under lockdown. Mohammed Jama, the former president of the Muslim Association of Canterbury, said a man with a gun entered Al Noor Mosque about 1.40pm local time on Friday. A man inside the mosque said there were 'bodies all over me'. Another said he saw children being shot.
